The India Under-23 team will practice in USA



The All India Football Federation (AIFF) are leaving no stone unturned with regards to the preparations for the AFC Under-23 Championship qualifiers which are scheduled for July 19 onward in Doha, Qatar. The India Colts, who will be coached by Stephen Constantine, will travel to the US in the month of July for a period of two weeks in order to ensure that the team is well prepared for the upcoming AFC qualifiers.

India are placed alongside Qatar, Syria and Turkmenistan with the group winner automatically making the cut for the final competition next year in China. Five best second placed teams from among 10 groups will also qualify for the main competition.

“The India Under-23 team will go to US as part of our preparations. We may play a few games there. We also have to thank SAI (Sports Authority of India) who liked our proposal for a tour to the US,” informed Kushal Das, the AIFF General Secretary.
