Sunil Chhetri equals Lionel Messi in International Goals

 

Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri registered a big achievement against Nepal in the final of SAIF Championship. Chhetri scored in the 49th minute of the match. 

With this, he also equaled the 80 international goals of Argentine football legend Lionel Messi.

Currently, Portugal’s star player Cristiano Ronaldo (115) holds the record for scoring the most international goals among active footballers. Messi and Chhetri are jointly second in this list. Both have the same 80-80 international goals.

Where as in top international men's football goal scorers, Chhetri and Messi are in fifth place.
