  A day after the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 draw was held, the atmosphere in the Indian Women’s Team in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, remains one of utter focus. The team has returned from a gruelling exposure tour, where they faced six tough opponents in three different countries with completely different weather conditions. The players had all gathered together to watch the draw live on Wednesday (October 28, 2021) at the team Hotel, eagerly waiting to see who they will be facing in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, that India will host next year. “We have a collective dream, and that is to do well in the Asian Cup.   The Indian Senior Women’s National Team has been drawn in Group A of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022, alongside eight-time champions China PR, two-time champions Chinese Taipei, and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The draw ceremony was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, earlier today (Thursday, October 28). India begin their campaign against Islamic Republic of Iran on January 20, 2022, followed by matches against Chinese Taipei on January 23, 2022, and China PR on January 26, 2022. “It is an exciting group. We respect all our opponents as all of them are strong teams who have qualified for the AFC Asian Cup India 2022. But we are ready to play any team,” Dennerby stated moments after the draw. “I don’t consider any particular match as a key one. All three matches are key matches for us in the group stage.  The Indian Women’s team is all set to take on Djurgarden IF in their second friendly match in Sweden, which will kick off at 6.30 PM IST tomorrow (October 23, 2021) . It'll be hosted at the Stockholm Stadium in the Swedish capital. Having already played four friendlies against UAE (4-1), Tunisia (0-1), Bahrain (5-0), and Chinese Taipei (1-0), Thomas Dennerby's girls headed to Sweden with three wins and a loss to their name.  With three wins under their belt, the Indian Women’s Team will now take on Swedish Dammalsvenskan (tier 1) league side Hammarby IF in a friendly match in Stockholm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. This is the first of the two friendlies they will play in the Scandinavian country. The Indian Women’s Team had their preparatory camp in Jamshedpur with infrastructural and logistical aids from the Government of Jharkhand. The Indian Women’s Team is all set to take off to Sweden, where they will face off against two Dammalsvenskan (tier 1) sides Hammarby IF (October 20) and Djurgarden IF (October 23) as part of their preparation for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup next year. The team has already played four friendlies against international opponents like the UAE (4-1), Tunisia (0-1), Bahrain (5-0), and Chinese Taipei (1-0) over the last few weeks in UAE and Bahrain. Dennerby, who had himself coached both the sides almost one and a half decades back, spoke of the quality of opposition that the Indian Women’s Team is about to face. “We will be playing against Hammarby and Djurgarden, both of whom play in the top tier in Sweden. Manama: The Indian women's football team beat lower-ranked Bahrain 5-0 in their international friendly match here on Sunday.   The Indian Women’s Team, having played two friendlies in Dubai, UAE, will now move to Bahrain, where they will play another two friendlies against the Bahrain National Team and the Chinese Taipei. The team has already faced UAE (4-1) and Tunisia (0-1) in the two matches in Dubai, and will now travel to Bahrain on Thursday, October 7, 2021 for the next leg of their friendlies. After playing the two friendlies, the Indian Women’s Team will then fly out to Sweden, where they are set to face two Dammalsvenskan (tier 1) sides.
